- In the first shot there is a master shot of three little girls. the girls seem to be looking at the camera or something behind it. this can make the audience scared because often people do not like the unknown this will make the audience wonder what the girls are looking at, this would make the viewer want to watch more.
-In this scene there is a lot of use of MISE-EN-SCENE around the room. The old victorian curtain's, the old carpet and old beds this suggests that there in an old house what is frequently used in horror movies.
- There is a lot of non - diegetic sound used in this scene this is commonly used to make the scene more scary.
- There are several close up shots of doll what the 3 girls are playing with. This could show there innocents and how young they are.
- In the next shot the 3 girls are playing with dolls still showing there innocents and oblivious to what might happen to them next
- In the last part of the opening sequence there is a close up of the girl standing on the dolls head. This is then followed by the 3 girls walking towards 3 windows and then standing in each of the window's and then jumping off to there death this is clarified by diegetic synchronous sound of the mother screaming.
